On the MSNBC host that said soldiers shouldn't be referred to as heroes.
- N: I think what he should have said was the "I don't think it's right to portray going to war as an inherently heroic thing to do. War is inherently destructive. Many soldiers who go to war do heroic things for their fellow men and women and that is to be applauded. But the language of calling all soldiers heroes is definitely propaganda to justify more wars."

- R: We have this collective cognitive dissonance towards war.

- N: Exactly. I think it makes it easier for the military to cover its crimes if everything is done in the name of valor and honor
- R: Bradley Manning is a prime example. The fact that the focus has been on what he did, and not what was uncovered.
- R: That's fucked up.
- R: and says a lot about a nation.
- N: Exactly. I think a lot of Americans are deeply afraid that we are the evil we seek to vanquish.
